Dan Flavin goes Allmoge

The sculpture consists of long fluorescent tubes mounted vertically into the wall on top of a rustic three-light candelabra. The candelabra is a second hand object in the style of Swedish peasant craft from 1650-1900 (Allmoge), where the objects are often finely carved out of wood and painted in subdued colours with elaborated decorations.
The title refers to ”Monument for V Tatlin” by Dan Flavin, which itself is a reference to Vladimir Tatlin’s tower of 1919: ”The Monument to the Third International”.
